Children

Sadly more and more children are struggling in life with one in eight (12.8%) of children and young people aged between 5 and 19 years having at least one mental health disorder.  Life events such as bereavement, bullying, divorce, exams and moving home can have an impact on a child’s ability to cope.

Speaking to a counsellor away from home and school can provide a space that feels safe and non-judgemental. The approach used for counselling children will depend on the child’s age, situation and stage of development but may include play, art and drama.

I have worked with children experiencing a range of issues, including:

I work on a one to one basis, meeting with children on the same day at the same time each week.  The length of the session will depend on the child and their circumstances but will usually be somewhere between 40 and 50 minutes.
